About Superhydrophobic CoatingsSuperhydrophobic coatings are advanced coatings that have the potential to replace the currently used conventional hydrophobic coatings. Superhydrophobicity, also known as the lotus leaf effect, is witnessed in nature in various forms: Leaves, wings of insects, and feathers of birds. Superhydrophobicity is defined by the water contact angle on a surface. Water contact angle of superhydrophobic surfaces is higher than 150° and hysteresis is lower than 10°.
